Work Based Learning
CTE students that are driven and successful in a CTE program are allowed to participate in that program for a second year, if space is available. Beyond enjoying the program, these students generally have a solid interest in pursuing a career in that field. In the second year of the program, students are able to gain a deeper understanding of the program through the pursiut of additional certifications or additional curriculum.
Internship
Students will be expected to pursue an internship during the second year of the program. The internship will follow Michigan's Work Based Learning standards, in which the student's Career and Educational goals should line up with the chosen job. CTE has a many wonderful relationships within the community, and it is inspiring to see what the students learn on the job with such generous opportunity from our partners. Those who do not obtain an internship are required to complete advanced assignments within their CTE course.
